letitia, they can take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of hours. first off, they are completely digital - there is no paper or ink or paint involved, no 'originals". and they aren't all "never the same" - a lot of cutting and pasting, and shrinking and blowing up is involved. for example, if i want a car approaching or receding in the distance, i just draw the car once - then in seconds by shrinking or blowing up the car i get a sequence. the re-sizing does produce a very slight fuzziness, so i usually avoid it when doing people rather than objects like buildings or vehicles. a panel with several characters in it might take up to a couple of hours. the most time consuming element of the whole process is maintaining consistency, especially in a story i haven't worked on for a while - going back and finding what color the eyes, hair, etc of a character were - or the proportions of a car or a room. of course i don't "have to" keep this consistency - but i prefer to make a stab at it.
Rhoda, allowing of course, that no two are ever the same, how long does each panel take to draw?
