a flower grew in a crackinstead of staring at another prospectusin the sidewalk in back

of the colossal universal bankwhere a chauffeur named frank

waited for mister maggwhose shoulders were beginning to sag

from the weight of his responsibilitiesto the ring of shining cities

encircling the spinning globehe wished he was in his bathrobe

o lord, he thought, protect us

frank chewed a piece of gumand a happy tune began to hum

but the flower did not careand the blue sky continued to stare

as a single raindrop fellon the flower it loved so well
