all the world is a mirror...

this is the twelfth

of a series of poems by nooshin azadi

derived from drawings by rhoda penmarq

.

all the world is a mirror
reflecting my fate -
where am i going?

life is a mirror
in which i'm trapped -
what are these images
flashing by me?

close your eyes
and dream
close your eyes
and dream with me
close your eye
and dream with me, my friend

we are together
we have always been together
a lie separated us
a lie that everyone believed

we have always been together
in all the lives we lived
in all the skins we wore
in all the fates we chose
a lie separated us
a lie that everyone believed

our home is built
on the edge of a lunar system
where suns rotate around a moon
and planets grow like plants -
from a seed
sown in a fertile dream

that's the place
we first met
and the place
we can find each other again
where parallel mirrors
proliferate the tiny rays of truth
to melt down the lie
everyone believed
where shapes are formless
far is close
two is one
and silence sings

close your eyes, my friend
and dream with me
close your eyes
to this lie
that everyone believed
take off your skin
forget your name
and live forever
here
with me

The last stanza says it all for me and will echo in the chambers of my Soul, long after the words read.
