to know the world could be better than it is
you don’t need a p h d
to know all people want to be free
in an evil hour
priests and kings invented power
they turned all people into slaves
armies ruled the land, and navies the waves
they built pyramids to the sky
and cared not how many millions died
invented reasons for people to fight
and plunged the world into endless night
they were not yet done
their castles blotted out the sun
and before the people woke
they created money - the final stroke
money! the last and greatest curse
encircling the universe
against whose force there is no plea
and yet it did not have to be
o let us gather on the shore
and serve the masters nevernore
stop the game we can not win
and start the universe over again
