today is thursday
yesterday was wednesday
tomorrow will be friday
yesterday i went to lunch with x
i am not sure why
we went to this place that serves breakfast all day
i ordered ham and eggs
x ordered a western omelette
i asked x if there was such a thing as an eastern omelette
we discussed the matter
x said if you put sushi in an omelette that would make it an eastern omelette
and that such an idea might sweep the earth
and make somebody a billion dollars
i said i don’t know anything about cooking
i don’t even know what part of the egg you use to make omelettes
x wanted to talk about politics
i wanted to talk about football
the conversation dragged
x wanted to talk about how awful nancy pelosi is
and i wanted to talk about how great tom brady is
finally the forty five minutes was over
x thought the waitress was cute and wanted to leave a big tip
i was not so enthused
i told x to leave whatever
and i would leave my own tip
outside it looked like it might rain
but it didn’t
