poem 89

by dog e relaford

what a lovely day, thought doris i think i will go for a walk she started down the road and received a terrible shock

what she saw was so amazing it could not be described she wished she could unsee it but she had nowhere to hide

the local authorities sounded the alarm but poor doris had nowhere to run to not even on the old farm

with helicopters overhead and demons bubbling up from the earth doris reflected on her crimes and cursed the day of her birth

the end came quickly as it so often transpires now we hear no more of doris and her curious desires

stay in your caves, o humans away from prying eyes but if you must come out at night - watch the skies!
