untitled

by bofa xesjum

a man walked down a road.

the sun was shining.

white clouds drifted across the blue sky.

the man wore a hat on his head.

the hat was brown.

the hat had a green feather on it.

a bird flew across the sky.

the bird was mostly blue, but had a few white feathers.

fences ran along both sides of the road.

the road was going somewhere.

if the man turned and began walking in the opposite direction, the road, from his point of view, would have been going somewhere else.

but the man kept walking in the same direction.

after a while, the man grew thirsty, and he stopped and took a bottle of water out of the pocket of his blue pants.

the man took a few sips from the bottle of water and put it back in the pocket of his blue pants.

the man saw a car appear in the distance.

the car rapidly approached him, and passed him.

as the road was paved and not dirt, the car did not kick up a cloud of dust.

the car seemed to have four occupants, but as it passed so quickly the man could not be sure. but it clearly had at least three, and might have had five.

or six or seven, or eight, if there had been persons in the trunk, or crouched on the front or back floors of the car.

one of the occupants shouted something to the man as the car passed, but he could not make out the words.

the man kept walking.

he was not a serial killer, a hit man, a homicide detective, a movie star, a movie director, a world famous novelist, or a billionaire.

if he had been a billionaire he probably would not have been walking along the road, as he could have afforded some form of transportation.

there were no signs of sentient life along the sides of the road, not a cow, or a horse, or a sheep, or a dog, or a cat, or a pig, or a lion, or a tiger, or a python, or a boa constrictor, or an elephant, or a mouse, or a gray rat, or a brown rat.

the man saw a figure approaching in the distance.

as it got closer, he saw that it was a woman of indeterminate age.

the woman wore blue jeans, a white t shirt with a large red letter “y” on it, a black cowboy hat, and doc martens.

the man and the woman passed each other by without either speaking.

the man did not tip his hat to the woman.

the man did not look back at the woman after she passed him.

as he did not look back at her, he could not see if she looked back at him.

the man stepped on a bug and killed it, but was not aware that he did so.

the man kept walking.

the sun began to go down, and then went down.

darkness covered the earth.
